This guide explains how Composerie billing works for Shopify stores. It is for merchants deciding whether to start, and for anyone who wants to understand the two parts of their Composerie charge. The exact plan name, trial length, monthly price, usage rate, and caps are shown in Shopify before you approve billing.
Shopify is the billing source
For Shopify stores, Composerie uses Shopify app billing. You approve the subscription in Shopify, and Composerie charges appear on your Shopify invoice. Composerie’s billing page points you back to Shopify for plan management.
Composerie may show your current plan and usage in the dashboard, but Shopify is the place where you approve, change, or cancel the subscription.
Your cost can have two parts. The first is a monthly subscription. The second is a usage fee for personalized items, if usage billing is active for your plan. The next two sections explain each part.
The monthly subscription
The monthly subscription covers access to Composerie’s Shopify app, dashboard, Design Studio, customizer, product publishing, order processing, and provider workflows.
Before billing starts, Shopify shows the exact subscription price and trial terms for the plan you are approving. Review that Shopify approval screen carefully; it is the source of truth for what you will be charged.
You can confirm the active subscription in two places: Shopify’s app billing area and Settings, Billing inside Composerie.
The per-item usage fee
On top of the monthly subscription, your plan may include a usage fee for each personalized item Composerie processes. If you sell more personalized items in a month, usage fees rise with that volume. If you sell fewer, you pay less usage.
If usage pricing is tiered, Shopify and Composerie’s billing settings show the current rate or tier before usage is charged. See usage fees explained for how Composerie counts personalized items.
