This guide explains what a print provider does in Composerie and which providers you can connect today. It is for store owners who are getting ready to fulfill real orders. You do not need a provider to build a product or to let shoppers preview their design. You connect one when you want orders to print and ship.
What a print provider does
A print provider is the company that prints your customer’s design and ships it to them. You do not print anything yourself.
Here is the flow. A shopper personalizes a product and checks out on your Shopify store. Composerie then sends the order and the print-ready file to your connected provider. The provider prints the item and ships it to the customer.
You can do a lot before any provider is connected. You can build products, set up the customizer, and let shoppers preview their designs. None of that needs a provider. The provider only matters once real orders start coming in and you want them fulfilled.
To see where this lives, open the dashboard and go to Integrations in the left navigation. Scroll to the Fulfillment section. Every print provider shows up there.
Which providers you can connect today
The Fulfillment section lists the fulfillment options available for this release: Printify, Printful, MerchOne, PrintAPI.nl, self-print, and self-download.
Each external provider card shows one of two states.
- Available to connect. The card has a Connect button. You can set this provider up right now.
- Connected. The card shows a status dot and a Manage link once you have set the provider up.
Right now, these external providers are available to connect:
- Printify, global print fulfillment for apparel, accessories, home goods, and more.
- Printful, global print fulfillment for apparel, accessories, and home goods.
- MerchOne, print fulfillment for apparel, accessories, and custom merchandise.
- PrintAPI.nl, EU print fulfillment for posters, canvas, photo books, and cards.
Composerie also supports self-print and self-download fulfillment modes. These do not require external provider credentials: self-print lets you generate print-ready files for manual fulfillment, and self-download lets you deliver generated digital files.
Each available provider has its own connect page and its own setup steps. Use the dedicated guide for the one you are setting up:
Open a provider to connect it
These steps get you from the Integrations hub to a provider’s connect page. The exact fields differ per provider, so follow your provider’s guide for the final steps.
Open the Fulfillment section
Go to Integrations in the dashboard, then scroll to the Fulfillment section. Find the provider you want, for example Printify.
Click Connect on an available card
On a card that shows as available, click Connect. If a provider is not listed for your account, it is not part of the current live scope.
Land on the provider connect page
Composerie opens that provider’s connect page. The address is /integrations/providers/ followed by the provider name, for example /integrations/providers/printify. The page shows the provider name and a setup guide for that provider.
Follow the on-page setup guide
Read the setup guide on the page and enter the credentials it asks for. Connecting needs credentials from the provider’s own dashboard, such as an API key or an access token. You get those by logging into your account on the provider’s site, not inside Composerie. Your provider’s dedicated guide walks through exactly where to find them.
Common questions
Do I have to connect a provider before I launch?
No. You can build products and let shoppers preview their designs with no provider connected. You only need one to fulfill real orders.
What if I do not want to use an external provider?
Use self-print or self-download fulfillment. Those modes let you handle print files or digital delivery without provider API credentials.
Can I connect more than one provider?
Yes. Connect each one from its own card in the Fulfillment section. You can then decide which products go to which provider.
Where do I get the credentials a provider asks for?
From the provider's own dashboard, not Composerie. Log into your account on the provider's site to find the API key or token. Each provider guide shows the exact location.
